I’m an expert communicator with a passion for technology and writing. In my current role at Clear Ballot Group, I help make elections easy to understand for everyone by turning complex election jargon and systems into easy to understand concepts and instructions.
I honed my skills in technical writing from my five years of experience in journalism. From complicated legal issues to statistics and data, I learned to convey intricate and complex topics in a way which anyone can understand. Working for a hyperlocal, community-based news source, I made it my mission to keep on top of things the residents of Dartmouth, Massachusetts needed to know, and made sure it’s online when they visited Dartmouth Week’s website. The deadlines, demand for information, and responsibility to convey accurate information to a general audience made the pivot to technical communications a simple move.
I graduated from UMass Dartmouth with an English degree in 2015 — nowhere near where I thought I’d be when I began my freshman year as a computer science major after spending my childhood coding and tinkering with electronics. I credit my high school English teacher for turning me on to my love of writing. Thanks Mrs. Ferreira!
No matter where the future takes me, I know it will involve coffee, a laptop, and a word processor.
